day 1

Monday, 21.03.2022
All students and teachers were warmly welcomed by the principal of Liceo Scientifico. The Bookpackers presented their videos showing the schools they are all from. As soon as the presentations finished, our Italian hosts brought a lot of positive energy and joy - during the break with energetic music played all students gathered and danced in the courtyard. Afterwards we spent the afternoon sighseeing the area. We had an opporutnity to see the impressive almost a thousand-year-old Abbey of Grottaferrata and take part in the guided tour. Enjoying the spring sun we finished the day with a relaxing walk in Frascati.

day 2

Tuesday, 22.03.2022

Early in the morning we set off to Rome to visit the oldest European library Bibliotheca Angelica. Surrounded by books we could feel the enthralling atmosphere of the centuries and see the manuscripts of Divine Comedy by Dante.

Impressed by the fountains on Piazza Nuova, we strolled to throw a coin into the di Trevi Fountain. Walking up the meandering streets we climbed the Capitoline Hill to admire the view of the Forum Romanum. A few steps and we could see the Victorian Complex. We all hope we will come back to Rome soon.

day 3

Wednesday, 23.03.2022

The day started really early as we were heading to Florence to follow the footsteps of Lucy and George, the characters of the book by Forster A Room with a View. Florence enchanted us all with its great architecture and  atmosphere. With the audioguides prepared by Italian students, we roamed the streets trying to imagine the protagonists of the book on Piazza della Signoria. We all loved the visit in the Uffizi Gallery with masterpieces by world-known artists.

day 4

Thursday, 24.03.2022

In the morning all Bookpackers gathered at school for oral expression workshops. Students in international groups collaborated on how to tell a story and how to prepare an effective presentation. With thinking routines employed, mindful listening and great practical tips the debate held on Friday will surely be a success.

When the workshops were over, all the Bookpackers participated in Bookcrossing event. We brought various books in English to swap during the mobility. Our books are registered in the bookcrossing website as we can now follow them :)

After a tour of school held by Italian students, we all left for Parco Archeologico Culturale di Tuscolo - an archeological site with ancient ruins of the city. Sitting in the former theatre we could listen to students presenting poems in Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Portugese and Polish. At the crosswords of the ancient city once more different cultures met.

The day finished with our visit to astonishing Tuscolana Villas. Impressed by the architecture and splendor of the villas, standing in the garden we admired the view of Rome at the sunset. Another day full of emotions, collaboration, sharing our experiences passed by.

day 5

The day has come - the day of our literature debate. Each partner school represented by three students shared their thoughts and opinions on the novel. It was a good and fruitful debate. The students who couldn't be with us in Italy followed the live streaming on You Tube.

After a short break we were happy to share cultural heritage presentations. The teams from all the partner countries let us discover thier national poets and writers.

In the afternoon we had a chance to say goodbye to Rome when visiting Colosseum and walking on the Forum Romanum.

As the evening came it was a time of pizza night, exchanging social media accounts and saying thanks to our wonderful Italian hosts. We enjoyed every minute of staying with you!

Thank you all for the great time we had together and see you in Spain!
