day 1
On Monday 23rd, the Erasmus partner schools were welcomed by our Headmistress at a short ceremony held in XX Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Cracow. Each group had a chance to present their schools and the areas nearby in a form of short videos. Afterwards there was a group tour of Krakow city centre with the audioguides prepared by Polish students. The whole Erasmus group could follow the Royal Route and listen about the highlights of Cracow. The walking tour included among others a visit to the Wawel Hill, admiring the old buildings of the Jagiellonian University and the Cloth Halls in the Main Market Square.
day 2
On Tuesday 24th, all the groups went on a full day excursion to Auschwitz. There, a guided tour was held in the former Nazi concentration camp. We visited both Auschwitz I and II /Birkenau/ death camps. The times of WWII are closely connected with the book by Roma Ligocka The Girl in the Red Coat, chosen for the literature debate. After coming back to Krakow, oral expressions workshops conducted by Maciej Pabisek took place in the school building. One of the aims of the workshops was to help students process the experiences from that emotionally challenging day.
day 3
On Wednesday 25th, the Erasmus partners visited the Wieliczka Salt Mine in the vicinity of Krakow. A private coach took all the students and teachers to Wieliczka and the whole morning was spent on a guided tour in the impressive Salt Mine. The afternoon was devoted to two other activities. In the district of Nowa Huta all the students participated in the creative workshops conducted in Nowohuckie Centrum Kultury /Nowa Huta Cultural Centre/ and in a short guided tour of this communist district.

Thursday 26th. The morning started with the visit to the regional library and the online meeting with Oliwia Dąbrowska who played a role of a girl in the red coat in the film Schindler’s List, which was based on the book by Roma Ligocka The Girl in the Red Coat. Afterwards all students divided in groups took part in the location-based game, which ended up in the Jewish district, Kazimierz abd Podgórze - the place where Jewish ghetto used to be during WWII and where the plot of the novel The Girl in the Red Coat was set. The students took a walk in the districts of Kazimierz, Podgórze and Zabłocie stopping at the Square of the Ghetto Heroes and Schindler's Factory.
day 5
On Friday 25th, fifteen students belonging to the five partner countries debated about the novel The Girl in the Red Coat by Roma Ligocka. The literature debate was led by Joaquin Rojo Ruz, Spanish teacher. During the debate the students analyzed the plot, the setting and the characters of the story and established connections with their personal experiences. The event was broadcast in streaming on Youtube. After the engaging debate, the students of participating countries presented different aspects of their cultural heritage, from tales and writers to famous places and traditions. A closing ceremony took place at the school building and the afternoon was devoted to a farewell walk in the Krakow Old Town and a traditional Polish lunch, in which all the project participants took part.
